AlloCare app’s testing services

AlloCare app’s Testing services

Traditionally, patients have to track their blood test results via phone calls which can be time-consuming. To address this issue, we have developed a platform where patients can conveniently view their blood test results and track their progress. Moreover, the app enables patients to communicate with their primary care manager instantly.

Problem statement

Many users have expressed their dissatisfaction with the AlloCare app’s limited information on their testing results and the inability to track their progress. They are required to call and inquire about their status, which can be inconvenient and discouraging. This may hinder CareDx patients from using the app consistently.

For the app designed for transplant patients, one of the key challenges is creating user-friendly gauges and a timeline that clearly displays each step with comprehensive descriptions. Additionally, it is crucial to understand and cater to the needs of the users from the perspective of a patient care manager (PCM). By addressing these challenges, the app can provide a seamless and intuitive experience for transplant patients, empowering them to navigate their journey effectively.

My Approach To Overcoming Challenges

The challenge of understanding user needs from the perspective of a patient care manager (PCM), I scheduled meetings with the PCM to gather valuable insights. I asked PCM to brainstorm ideas with drawings and screenshots. Additionally, I conducted surveys to directly ask users about their preferences and gather feedback on the most effective design approaches.

During multiple brainstorming sessions, I worked together with the team, and the patient care manager to develop the healthcare app design.

What do users think?

After brainstorming, I asked the patients for their feedback. Many of them mentioned that it would be easier to view their progress with a bar in the center and color-coded dots indicating their position in the testing process.

In the final design, the current step is highlighted on a center line to improve its readability. Based on additional user testing, users have stated that the information provided would help reduce their stress levels and enable them to comprehend the process at any given time.

Since launching the feature, I have received positive feedback from the PCM. They noted that the chat function, timeline, and results have greatly improved communication efficiency.
